What if I could answer your pressing questions about fundraising,

get you focused on your next steps,

and fill you up with encouragement and confidence,

all in 1 hour?

Does any of this sound familiar?

“We’ve been working on growing our donor base, but we’re having trouble.”

“I think we’re on the right track with our direct mail program, but I’m just not sure.”

“I wish someone could just tell me what to do to raise more money for our nonprofit.”

If you’re like most professional fundraisers, you have more questions than you have answers about how to best raise money for your nonprofit organization.  Even if you have years of experience, sometimes it’s helpful to bounce ideas off of someone who knows what works.

I remember working as a Development Director and wishing there was a “Fundraising Hotline” I could call to get answers to my most pressing questions.  I didn’t always want to take a class; I wanted to talk one-on-one with an expert to talk about my specific situation.

After coaching and consulting with nonprofits for many years, I recognize that many of you have that same desire for help.  So, I’ve create a service just for you.  It’s called my Clarity Power Hour.

Clarity Power Hour

What it is: a 1-hour phone session with me where you can ask all the questions you like and get clear on what you need to do to raise more money for your nonprofit. Or we can brainstorm ideas for specific projects or needs you have.

When you need it: Anytime you find yourself struggling to make a specific fundraising strategy work or you aren’t sure what you need to do next.  Maybe you’re about to try a fundraising appeal letter through the mail and you want to be sure you get a good return on your investment. Or maybe you have lots of opportunities and you aren’t sure which one is the best one.

This is for you if you:

  • aren’t sure what your goals are or what goals you need to set
  • spend your days fighting fires and need help establishing priorities
  • can’t decide what will work best for your nonprofit: grants, events, corporate giving, membership, or something else
  • need ideas for growing your donor base
  • need ideas for engaging your Board
  • are thinking about trying direct mail and want to make sure you get the most ‘bang for the buck’

What you get: 1 hour of my undivided attention.  I’ll help you get clear about what you need to do to be successful in raising money. I’ll even record the session for you so you can listen to it again later if you want.

What’s it cost? Your Clarity Power Hour with me is just $147.  When you consider what it costs you in terms of wasted time and money on fundraising strategies that don’t work, this is a bargain!

I’m excellent at identifying low-hanging fruit for people and generating lots of ideas in a short amount of time.  You’ll be amazed and surprised at what we can accomplish in an hour together.  Here are some sample agendas for our call:

Clarity Power Hour Sample Agendas

Donor Focus
We’ll identify your ideal donor prospect and talk about where you can find them easily and in large numbers. We can define your strategy for communicating with them and outline the best ways to ask for a gift from them.

Website
We’ll look at your website and I’ll suggest changes you can make to encourage more people to give once they visit your site.  You may have things on your site that are actually deterring giving!  We’ll talk about your email list and your opt-in sequence to make sure they are bringing you the most bang for the buck.  We’ll cover your email newsletter to make sure you’re including the right things.

Major Gifts
If you’re just getting started with major gifts, this is like a shot of pure adrenaline to get you going! We’ll talk about your best major donor prospects and create a strategy to engage them.  We’ll cover the different ways that will work for you for cultivating the donors, and I’ll help you find the right words to use to ask for a gift so that you feel comfortable and authentic in making the Ask.

Thanking Donors
We’ll talk about how you’re acknowledging and stewarding your donors, including reviewing your Thank You letter in detail to make sure it’s as powerful as it can be.  We’ll also talk about making donor thank-you calls and strategize about which donors you should be calling.  We’ll outline a script for the call and what clues you should listen for that might indicate what the donor would really like to give. Plus, I’ll give you ideas for engaging your Board members in this process.

Leslie got support and encouragement from her Power Hour

“As an individual relatively new to the fundraising community, with senior leadership that is not involved with all the nuances of obtaining funding, I approached Sandy for guidance and strategic direction. Her style of coaching and providing validation and encouragement were very helpful. Sandy zeroed in on the current environment of the organization and provided critical steps that will enable our development program to be successful with future opportunities.”

Director of Development
Aldersgate Village

Linda got a detailed end-of-year fundraising plan from her Power Hour

Linda is in charge of fundraising for a very small nonprofit in New York. She called me because her organization lost their top 3 donors this year and she was worried about replacing the revenue. (Two donors passed away and the third started a nonprofit of his own).

In a one-hour Clarity Hour, Linda and I mapped out a strategy to raise the money the organization needs, cultivate some new major donors, and do it in the small amount of time Linda has available before December 31.

A couple of days after our conversation, Linda emailed me to say she had her first major gift conversations and upgraded a donor from $3,000 to $10,000. She’s also got a couple of other really good gift prospects that she was waiting to hear back from. I was thrilled for her!

“Thank you for helping me to go beyond my stuck-in-the-mud mindset. I feel somewhat liberated and much bolder. I would not have made these contacts without your guidance and encouragement, so THANK YOU!”

  • In nonprofit fundraising, marketing is key to success
    February 20, 2012 | 6:00 am

Marketing is something that many people think they understand, yet few really do. In nonprofit fundraising, marketing is key to success. Fundraising marketing at its simplest is about finding the those people who are likely to care about your cause and giving them the chance to support you. It’s not necessarily about sales, although that’s [...]
