I’m having one of those days where I’m coming up short on something interesting or inspiring to blog about.

So, I thought I’d just share what I’m thankful for.

I’m thankful…

  • for a gorgeous, clear, crisp Fall day.  It refreshes me both inside and out.
  • for the work done by the hundreds of thousands of nonprofit organizations around the world.  You really are making a difference!
  • for the millions of donors who give generously of their resources to support the work of nonprofits.  Every dollar counts.  Without you, the nonprofit sector couldn’t do the work it does.
  • for the countless volunteers who donate their time to help others.  You swing hammers, hand out food, and care for the elderly.  You do so many things that provide comfort and support to others in need.
  • for Board members who bring their talents to the table.  You make decisions in a thoughtful, purposeful way and provide leadership to your organization.
  • for Executive Directors who are strong, dedicated leaders.  You hold the vision that others can rally behind and you know how to lead a team of staff and volunteers.  You are caring and wise.
  • for everyone who raises money.  You know who you are.  When you are willing to do what it takes to connect with your donors, you are serving both your organization and your community in a big way.

What are you grateful for?  Inquiring minds want to know.

  1. I’m grateful for the passion and inspiration that gets me out of bed in the morning, sometimes before the sun is up; for the ability to see and hear the wonderful river that I help to take care of, and for the physical agility and strength to climb into a kayak to appreciate that same river with my wonderful family. I gotta say, I’m also extremely grateful for a supportive and understanding “river widow”!

  2. I’m grateful that I have a job that allows me to stay at home with my little one! This time with him is precious. Oh, I’m also thankful that I have a friend as cool as Sandy Rees. 😉

  3. Today I’m grateful that a dear friend we don’t see often is spending the night here. And that the sun is shining another morning. And for all the things that Sandy shared. And for my fabulous business partner who also happens to be my spouse. Oh yeah, my kids. And family. And friends.
And for all of my fabulous and generous colleagues in this profession. It’s the best as we get to spend each day helping the organizations that work so hard to make the world a better place to live.

  4. Thanks for asking this!

I’m thankful that I have 1 student signed up for my art class tomorrow!

I’m thankful that I have several new grantwriting clients on the horizon.

I’m thankful that I love to stretch myself and make new things, and today I’m going to make potassium soap!

I’m thankful that yesterday I got mentioned by Wayne Elsey’s blog, and

I’m thankful that I found out before it was too late that the person who said she wanted to make art for our video game was probably a scammer!
